social well being and not merely absence of disease or infirmity - WHO
The curability of disease depends up on the balance between factors- the physical examination, diagnosis and treatment. Diagnosis link two factors together and plays a key role in the curability of disease. Clinical Laboratory and Medical Laboratory professionals are the key factors behind the diagnostic approach in the modern medicine. Unfortunately in India rules, regulations and quality control in the field of diagnostics is not yet established. Although the recent advance improves the treatment strategies, pit fall in the diagnostic set up, ultimately fail to attain the goal in patient care as per the WHO guidelines. Hence the necessity to bring light in the diagnostic field is crucial and relevant in the modern medical care.
Considering all these factors legislation is inevitable in the field of Clinical laboratory science, for the improvement of total health care system in India.
Clinical Laboratory Professionals Association aims to form a regulatory body in the clinical laboratory science which is an essential part of medicine. It also empowers the regulatory power for education and training of the professionals in Medical Laboratory Technology, Registration of professionals and Registration of Clinical Laboratories in India.
